![]() Galatea de las Esferas by Salvador Dali 500-pc jigsaw puzzle for US$ 12.80 In this picture, painted in 1952, Dali tried to reflect what he had already writen about in his Manifesto Mistico: the spiritual aspect (mystical portrait of Gala) and science (the spheres) are combined as a general order of the Universe. It was an idea that obsessed him, and he painted it again and again. He simplified the background, reducing it to sea and sky, eliminating any other element that might complicate the perception of the main theme. This double image of Gala brings together the stimuli of the spiritual and the scientific, two primary recurrent observations in Dali's work after World War II.
